MG MGB 1973 (L)
ROADSTER
Vehicle Description
This MGB Roadster was meticulously rebuilt on a Heritage bodyshell in 2004, including new wiring loom, alternator, H4 headlamp conversion, petrol pump, fuel lines, oil cooler, oil pipes, radiator and hoses. Plus, many other new or overhauled components including brake drums, callipers, cylinders, hoses and pipes. The vehicle has covered approximately 10,000 miles since.
During the rebuild various enhancements were made.
To improve performance the engine has been fitted with a Weber 45 DCOE carburettor, branch exhaust manifold, stainless steel big bore exhaust, lead free cylinder head. The distributor was rebuilt and tuned including fitting of electronic ignition.
For better handling the restorer fitted a one inch diameter front antiroll bar, Spax telescopic front and rear adjustable shock absorbers. He also fitted the latest parabolic rear springs, uprated front coil springs and new wheels with 185/70 x 14 B F Goodrich tyres.
Needless to say with better performance and handling the braking system has also been upgraded to ventilated heat dissipating discs with performance pads.
Also improving performance and driveability the car has Optional Extra Overdrive on third and fourth gear.
The sumptuous cockpit features a Motalita wood rimmed polished aluminium steering wheel, mohair hood, electric windows, tan leather trim and matching carpets.
A letter from British Motor Industry Heritage Trust confirms the year of manufacture. The large history file includes parts invoices, rolling road tuning and service invoices dating from 2003 to recent. Also included are all MOT certificates from 2000 to present.
This MGB finished in British Racing Green with complementing Tan interior and new chrome work really is a superb example!
